On behalf of the Hungarian Branch of the International Law Association and the Sub-Committee on Public International Law of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, we hereby express our solidarity with all members of the community of international lawyers in Ukraine. We sincerely hope that our esteemed colleagues, their families and loved ones are and will remain safe during these troubling times. The aggression by the Russian Federation has profoundly shaken us all. The violation of the basic rules and principles of international law has resulted in the loss of so many lives and in the widespread destruction of homes and infrastructure. Recalling that no consideration of whatever nature may serve as a justification for aggression, we urge the immediate cessation of all armed activities in Ukraine and that every effort be made to find a peaceful solution to the crisis in full respect for international law and for the sovereignty of Ukraine.
